Update

I don't have any pictures for this post, just an update on us.

This past week was really fun. On Wednesday night BEG and I took RHETT and walked to the annual Pumpkin Shine on Line. It was so fun looking at all the cute pumpkins the kids designed and RHETT did so well with all the people (and pumpkins!) On our way to the park we stopped by and saw Virginia and Marion Cass. They were intown briefly and it is always good to see them both! MC is getting so big and since I've seen her last (2 weeks ago) she has broken 2 teeth and is crawling!!! Crazy how fast they grow up.

On Thursday night we headed down to the Louisiana State Fair. It was a lot of fun. I wanted to see the cute farm animals and eat some yummy fair food and we did both!! We started with ribbon fries, followed by a funnel cake and polished it off with a cup of Dip-n-Dots. All 3 were delicious and well worth the calories. We wandered through the petting zoo and saw everything from goats to llamas to wallabies to giraffes. On our way out we walked through the game/ride area. I was shocked to see how things have stayed the same from when I was little. The rides are still the same and everything. It brought back wonderful memories for BEG and I both. The biggest change I noticed was that one of the game giveaways were live bunny rabbits! I think my parents would DIE if I brought home a rabbit from the fair!

Tonight we are heading to the ElDorado Casino for a Reckless Kelly concert. This is BEG's favorite Texas Country band and he is soo excited!! I am looking forward to another low key weekend around the house. We will watch the Ole Miss-Auburn game tomorrow and just hope for a presentable appearance from the Rebels!?!?

We've got no big plans for Halloween as it is my least favorite day of the year. I don't like anything scary and I think costumes are stupid so I do not participate in anything dealing with Halloween. If you are trick or treating, be safe and have fun!

Hope everyone has a good and safe weekend.

george

It's been a BIG week for george in our house.

On Sunday while making the bed, BEG found 2 of george's teeth!!! Look how cute and little they are. These are his 2 back molars!!
Then on Wednesday while hanging out in the front yard he decided to chase a squirrel up a tree!!! Yes, he climbed his first tree. Here he is after descending the tree waiting on the squirrel to come back down.
Found something of interest!
And finally, while I type this george is getting neutered! Poor guy, I know. But at least now he can wander around outside without parental supervision! I can't wait to pick him up this afternoon. The house is so dull and quite without him around. RHETT has been wandering around looking for him this morning; it's so cute but pathetic at the same time.

AL Champions

So BEG and I decided late Thursday afternoon that it would be fun and possibly a chance to be a part of history to go to the Rangers-Yankees game in Arlington on Friday night. It was game 6 of the series with the Rangers up 3-2 over the Yankees. Well, the Rangers played a heck of a game and only gave up 4 hits and 1 run all night!!! It was a pretty incredible experience to be there to witness the win in person. BEG informed me that this is the first time the Rangers have ever been to the World Series in franchise history!! The Rangers will be playing the San Francisco Giants in the World Series which begins this week. Good Luck Rangers!

Bottom of the 9th inning. 2 outs and 2 strikes.
The pitch is thrown and A Rod swings
and he.........MISSES
WOO HOO!!! RANGERS WIN
Champagne going everywhere!

I told BEG it would be pretty cool if the Rangers were to win the World Series because then we would each have a World Championship (Saints/SuperBowl and Rangers/World Series). We will just have to wait and see!!

A Little Bit of Everything

I haven't updated lately b/c we haven't really done anything to report about. Last weekend we headed to Abilene/Lubbock. I had never been to Lubbock before last Friday and I was pleasantly impressed considering the stories I've been told. We met some people for lunch and then met with BEG's advisor. He is not going to start class in Lubbock until the summer so we have a few more months to sell the house and get all the loose ends tied up for the BIG move!

He was asked to teach his course at LSUS again this spring and he will also take Calculus II and audit Chemistry all while working full time and playing soccer to keep him sane! So needless to say, BEG will be B-U-S-Y this spring. Instead of applying for jobs in Shreveport knowing that we are moving in May, we have decided that I should start the job search in Lubbock. I have applied for a few jobs but no interviews yet! Hopefully I can stay in Shreveport through the holidays and start something at the first of the year but.......we will have to wait and see what happens.

This past weekend was our first weekend at home in awhile and it was fantastic! We went out Friday night with some friends for Lauren's birthday and laid in bed all day Saturday watching college football (just doesn't get any better than that!) Saturday evening we went to a wedding reception briefly before heading home to watch the Rebels and Tide play ball; I must say we did VERY presentable. The Tide didn't even cover the spread!! Sunday we got up and got busy cleaning for our open house. Our realtor called this morning and said that we had 4 couples stop by and 1 seemed interested! We will see what happens (fingers crossed!!) We are having a realtor open house next Tuesday and hopefully that will produce some showings as well.

Please keep us in your prayers! As exciting as this time of our lives is, it is quite stressful as well!!

BEG's sister Jill is coming in town tomorrow till Friday to hangout with us. She doesn't start her new job in Amarillo until Monday and with me not working I thought it would be fun for her to come out. Realistically, once BEG and I move from Shreveport his family will have no reason to ever come back to Shreveport so ...... she is coming to get her last Superior margarita and a few other things!

Rebecca and Tom find out the sex of their baby Friday and are having a party Friday night to reveal the sex of the baby. Since non of us here in Shreveport can make it to the party we decided that we would Skype our way into the party! I have never used Skype before so we will see if I can figure it out!!

Hope everyone has a good week.

A Bit Strange

Our kitty, George, absolutely LOVES the water!
It is really strange but really cute at the same time.
He also loves to fetch!!

Flight Risk

BEG and I left RHETT at my parent's house this weekend with their 2 dogs while we all went to Oxford for the game. My dad's brother, Uncle Andy, was watching and feeding them for us while we were gone. He went over on Saturday evening to give them fresh food and water and to make sure everyone was doing alright but when he returned on Sunday morning RHETT was gone. Turns out RHETT had dug a hole underneath the fence behind the garage and was on a mission to go home.

BEG and I got up and going Sunday morning and headed back to Shreveport. I commented to BEG how strange it was that my parents kept calling about every 45 mins to an hour asking where we were (we left about 4 hours ahead of them.) Turns out my uncle had called them and said that RHETT was gone!! They didn't want to tell me while we were hours away as there was nothing I could do about it while in the car but they were also curious to see if I told them that someone had called me on my cell since it is sewn into his collar and told me that they had RHETT. Dad finally broke the news to me as we passed into Bossier Parish. My heart sank into the bottom of my stomach. Where could he be?? RHETT has never run away. Whenever he gets out, he makes a lap around the neighborhood and then he waits at the door/gate to be let back in. Well this time he was no where to be found. My heart just broke. BEG hit the streets in my parents neighborhood knocking on doors asking if anyone had seen him. I, in the meantime, went to our house to see if by chance he was there (I wasn't holding my breath as we live 3 miles from my parents and he would have no way to know how to get home) but low and behold there he was sound asleep in the front yard!!!!!! I just starting crying when I saw him. He was very confused when I called his name and ran over to him. I wish he could talk so he could tell me about his journey home but I am just so glad he made it!

He was cashed last night and bless his heart he had a few nightmares but I think overall he slept pretty well. I took him to the Doggy Spa this morning for a bath and a little R&R. We are SO glad he made it home safe and sound.
