12 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 12 Weeks

Size of baby: About the size of a peach (3 inches long)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: No idea but go to the doctor Tuesday

Maternity Clothes: Still in regular clothes but they’re getting snug!

Gender: Will know July 2013

Movement: None yet

Sleep: I bought a pregnancy pillow from Bed, Bath and Beyond and it seems to have helped.  I usually sleep flat on my stomach and rub my feet together and that obviously isn’t an option anymore so trying to find a new “comfortable” has been difficult!

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach and Sushi

Cravings: I find myself craving chocolate/sweets but no more than pre-pregnancy.  The 1st 10 weeks though, the thought of sweets was not pleasant.

Symptoms: my low back/tailbone continuously hurts

Best Moment this week: Can’t wait to go to the doctor on Tuesday

8 weeks

Finding Out

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2012

I woke up feeling strange.
Not a good strange or a bad strange,
just plain strange.
After thinking about it for a few minutes,
I went and bought a pregnancy test
while Blake was at the park with the dogs.

Well low and behold...
and explanation to the strange feeling!

We were very surprised
but are oh so thankful
and are faithful in believing that God's timing is perfect
whether we understand it right now or not.

I say that because
Blake will leave for the Woodlands mid May
and will not return to Lubbock until late August.
The baby is due July 16!
He obviously will come home for the birth
but will then head back to finish his internship.

We have 3 semesters of school left
but know that everything will work itself out
as long as we remain faithful.

So here I am at about 6 weeks:
Not much change
but definitely "fuller" than normal.

We went for our 1st ultrasound on December 4
and this is what we saw....

Oh so fun!

We are really looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us.

And just because everyone ask,
NO, we are NOT finding out the sex of "baby biz".
Everyone must wait until it makes its arrival mid July!

I go to my 1st doctors appointment Tuesday (13 weeks)
and plan to update the blog every 4 weeks or so with an update and picture!

Big News...

Christmas Vacation 2012

We had such a great time on our Christmas Vacation 2012 that
I only took 2 photos the entire 12 days we were gone!

We started our vacation in Abilene on Friday, the 21st.
Jill flew in that night
and we hung out for the next 5 days.
We made a gingerbread house,
went to meet Molly Greer and Easton Goodman,
Blake worked at the deer plant,
Jill and I went to see "Playing for Keeps"
and we just hung around the house.
It was a nice relaxing Christmas
and we both got lots of good loot!!
Christmas Morning
We left Abilene Wednesday mid morning headed to Shreveport!
We stayed there until New Year's Day.
It was so nice to be home for an extended period of time
where we didn't have anything going on
(ie wedding, etc)
Plus Blake was there
(he hasn't been to Shreveport since Christmas 2011).

We ate at lots of our favorite restaurants,
saw a few friends but not all of them,
met Emma Nuckolls,
did some after Christmas shopping,
celebrated all the 1st quarter birthdays,
and did lots of football watching at Monnie's
(or slept, depends on who you ask!)

It was a fabulous 5.5 days with my family.
After church Sunday, Dec 30
The pups made their 1st trip to Shreveport
but not before a few mishaps in the car around Fort Worth.
They are definitely still car sick
but good travel buddies when drugged with Dramamine!

RHETT did great as always
and was SO excited to see Milly and Ice.

They all stayed at Mom and Dad's
with their 2 dogs, Rebel and Cotton,
and their cat, Bella.
Everyone survived..
and were sound asleep before we were even completely
backed out of the driveway headed home.

george henry hung back in Abilene
with Lou Lou and Mikey
and was spoiled rotten as always!

We are definitely thankful to our great parents
who allowed the dogs to come stay with them
and for babysitting!

We had a blast with Murphy while we were in Shreveport, as well.
He is at the funniest stage
where he repeats everything
and is in to everything!!

He LOVES his Uncle Bake
and loves to tell Aunt Kitty "hi".
modeling his Frog hat
I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas season
with your loved ones too!

Hope everyone has a wonderful 2013!!

December Thus Far

We have been bums around here,
just lazy ole' bums!

We haven't had any holiday parties yet,
which is good since Blake is in the teeth of finals.
He had his 2 hardest on Friday
and we are thrilled to have them over with.
He has 1 tomorrow, 1 Tuesday and his last on Wednesday...
then it is officially the Christmas holiday!!!!
and we are officially HALF WAY DONE!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been busy driving between
Lubbock and Pecos for work.
It's really not that bad
since I spend a couple of nights a week down there.
Ideally,
I would love to be home with the boys
but somebody has to work around here!!

We did head over to the Carol of Lights last Saturday
with the Hooks and Atropos.
It is Techs lighting of all the lights on campus.
There is a parade, caroling and then the lighting.
The weather has been unseasonably warm
so it was actually a very pleasant night to be outside;
not very cold and NO wind!

On Tuesday I had lunch with all the girls.
We used to get together all the time for happy hours
but now that 4 of the 6 are currently pregnant,
we have decided lunch is the best way for us all to get together.
It's always so fun to get together with them.

Last night,
we met our friends the Sawyers for supper at Chuy's
for Zach's birthday.
It was so much fun to get to visit, catch up
and celebrate Zach's birth!!

So that's all going on over here.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season thus far!
Stay safe.

Thankful Days 26-30

Day 26: After chatting with her the other day for 1.5 hours, I am reminded how thankful I am for Nonna. The lady is incredible! She always has an answer for everything....knows how to get a stain out of anything, knows how to cook anything, knows how to deal with unreasonable people. Just a true gem!!

Day 27: thankful for my sister in law, Jill. She is a great big sister to Blake and has welcomed me into the family with open arms!

Day 28: thankful for my sister, Rebecca. Although, we don't get to see her very often we do enjoy our time when we are together.

Day 29: Thankful for the opportunity to travel that my parents gave me growing up. What amazing people they are always giving and what amazing memories I will treasure forever!

Day 30: Thankful for the holidays. I means time with family and that's my favorite!!!
